HINDUISM
KARMA
Karma literally means ‘action’ but also refers to the influence of one action’s on present and future existence. (Encylopaedia Britannica, 2014) Karma is based in the simple concept of action and reaction. Karma is the factor resulting in continuous entrapment from Brahman. All actions attach themselves to your Atman. The purpose of current life in Hinduism is to avoid bad karma (actions) so that an individual can enjoy a more fortunate current existence and achieve a better future existence. (Religion Facts, 2015)
“As one acts and conducts himself, so does he become. The doer of good becomes good. The doer of evil becomes evil. One becomes virtuous by virtuous action, bad by bad action.”
(Bhagavad-gita 12:1-7)
